How ABA Works
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach to understanding and supporting behavior. Here's how the process works at MO Behavior Therapy, from first contact through ongoing care.
Initial ABA Assessment
A BCBA evaluates your child's needs, behavioral patterns, strengths and your family's priorities to identify potential treatment goals.
Functional Behavior Assessment
When appropriate, we assess the purpose behind specific behaviors so support strategies address the underlying function, not just the behavior itself.
Individualized ABA Therapy
Treatment is built from the assessment, with measurable, individualized goals — not a standardized program applied to every child.
Treatment Plan Development
Goals, strategies and the plan for measuring progress are documented and reviewed with your family.
Behavior Intervention Plans
When indicated, a plan outlines positive, evidence-based strategies for behaviors that interfere with learning, independence or safety.
Data Collection & Progress Monitoring
Treatment is continuously reviewed and modified based on data and documented progress — never left on autopilot.
